Great memory, bad photo. She was a little sick that day. |
I haven't posted on our adoption experience and I'm not sure if I ever will but feel free to ask me questions if you ever have them. Just to give you a little information. When my husband and I decided that we wanted a 3rd child he said he really wanted to help someone and adopt. I prayed about it and God put it heavy on my heart! I had lost my mom 5 years prior and really wanted that mother daughter relationship again. She was also adopted so I was raised knowing what a blessing it was. 9 months later Madeline was born. It has been the best experience of our lives!
I also wanted to quickly share that you can nurse your adopted baby! I had 2 doctors tell me it wasn't possible but I followed the Newman-Goldfarb Protocols for Induced Lactation and it's worked great. I actually didn't even follow the time line and it still worked. I took birth control for 15 days then started pumping. Madeline was born 10 days after that and I was already making a little milk. It went up in supply for about the first month and has stayed steady since. I don't make a full supply so I have to supplement but I make enough that we get to have that special bonding time together. I have a friend who has never lactated before and she as had the same success.
Any adoption stories out there?
